Default TMC settings for build in TMC tuner Blaupunkt San Diego BP-530

    Hello all

So on the BlauPunkt SanDiego BP-530 (Europe) I upgraded (factory delivered version?) iGo Primo from 9.2.4.369294 to v.9.6.13.669160 treated
Nuch nicer interface, and more important, it can read the 2019 maps (the old one somehow could not process the new maps)

The v.9.6.13.669160 works well except it "hangs" when exiting. Solution? Never exit! I removed the exit button and told my cousin to always swap back to the radio by using the radio menu selection.

Just one problem: The new iGo is not seeing the build in TMC tuner. The old one does, so I am sure it is there, but how to activate it.
The old version's sys.txt is nearly empty, hinting that both GPS and TMC are auto-discovered, and while GPS is also auto-discovered on the new iGo, TMC is not.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?
    - Know what chip & port is in the San Diego BP-530 (europe edition)
    - Know how to extract these kind of settings from the original "branding" file?
    - Have a working sys.txt?
    - etc

BTW: I already tried two pairs of 'blaupunkt related settings I found on the internet.
One was for a [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], but did not work. One turned out to be for external Avanteq TMC on COM7

was a long time with WindowsCE
I remember e.g. Pearl NavGear: it took a long time for a user to crack the Avantec TMC-Driver (DLL). All other attempts with the *Free*-Mobilenavigator iGO-Primo did not run or then without TMC.
I suspect the same thing on the Blaupunkt ???

The Navgear Avanteq TMC patch/workaround was one of mine

If I remember correctly, the Avanteq dll, would check the primo.exe version & the CRC of the Branding.zip & would only activate the TMC if these were correct.

    @ cybermaus

I don't know the Blaupunkt system so I doubt that the same procedure will work but here it is for you to see.

The download below shows how I achieved this. It requires some hex editor work

    Explanation of CRC

Could of been CRC or Checksum can't remember. It amounted to the same thing that the original branding.zip couldn't be tampered with & had to be present for TMC to work.

Probably you mean, data.zip. Because 99% of branding.zip contain only image files.
    thanks for info

Getting old, my memory isn't what it was, but in this instance I remember correctly, branding.zip it is.

Pearl Navgear were running genuine Igo software, you had to pay for upgrades, maps etc.

They were keen to protect this source of revenue & their branding on these devices.

Monkey with it and you would loose TMC!

    Spoiler: Loading screen in branding.zip

Ok, much more reaction that I had anticipated. I was thinking this old WinCE stuff was a dead topic.

Many thanks all, and I WILL play with this at some time, but my cousin is now on holiday with his camper, so not immediately.
But do not think that the no activity means your responses are not appreciated.
