That 1024x600 is tricky*, but it's possible to get it working for non-NextGen because I did it for Galaxy Tab 3 a long time ago. Anyway, NextGen was created for devices with resolution of more than 800x480, so you should use that.

* It either work or not, but never in one mode and not another.
