You would think .wav are basic and should work since it's Microsoft and they make WinCE. Being able to play .wav outside proggy is different. If it couldn't, it just means the OS audio player didn't have codec to do it. Proggy has it's own codec and NNG first audio format is .wav (long before voice was available on earliest iGO aka running on PocketPC) There is something odd about your system.

Use this voice file and see if you hear siren instead of "...please drive carefully...." when selecting it

Well it's Hyundai OEM so that is very possible. I have been trying for just under 2 years now to get this to work and have failed at every turn. Remember this is not WinCE but WECv7, probably closer to Windows 7 then CE.

I have tried your suggestions and @Boki_Srb TTS suggestions and they have all failed to work. @Boki_Srb TTS does not seem to load the TTS Engine (the VAUTOV5.dll) which I'm guessing has something to do with the OS being WECv7 rather then WinCE.

Looks like I'm going to have to put up with just beeps. Darn......

Thanks very much for all your help, it was truly appreciated.

    EDIT: Used the voice file

and I do get a siren sound.

WECv7 is just an evolution of "Windows for Embedded devices." Originally called PocketPC, then WinCE, now WECv7. Different tune of same song. The layers beneath application is irrelevant for playing audio. If you hear voice direction, then NNG codec for .ogg is working. Unless NNG specifically made a version just for WECv7 (which I doubt), it should also has codec for .wav and therefore should be able to play .wav files. This is assumed that configuration is not preventing it. Have you tried to contact dealership and asked them why alerts are only in "beep?"
TTS is more complicated because you must have 3 things:
    1. Library (.dll's)
    2. Voice data (how it's going to pronounced)
    3. Voice configuration file (so it's available to proggy)
So far I never seen any TTS library for WECv7 anywhere much less data or config.

Ok, that means proggy can handle .wav So it's back to configuration now. What you get with the other data.zip changed to use "ding" channel?

Sorry, I don't understand what you are saying here.

    1. Are you saying use the data.zip you uploaded to zippy?

    2. What does changed to use "ding" channel mean?

Post #49 at [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

First data.zip was alarm channel, post #49 is ding channel. Look at the different volume settings under Sound.

Using the data.zip from Post #49 and the voice file you uploaded to zippy.

When program boots up I still get a couple of beeps. If I go into Sound in the UI I get the siren when changing the volume of Voice and ding when changing both Alerts and Ding.

Is this what you wanted to know?

Yes. Unfortunately, for some reason, it's not able to play .wav from start up. But it's capable of handling .wav since I changed the voice file to have .wav and it works.
Is your car model Motrex 2000?

No, it's an Hyundai Tucson. Motrex is the Navi division of Hyundai from what I can gather.

Oh ok, it's the model of DIN. NNG has tendency to create common config file that has settings might not used by the unit. Do you see Motrex 2000 anywhere on the DIN unit? Is your Nav unit capable of TMC?
