I've been using TomTom GPS for couples years after what I switched to iGO + HERE maps which was absolutely the greatest update ever. I tested the TT maps on iGO as well and personally I prefer HERE. As I travel with motorcycle internationally I have had opportunity to test them in whole Europe (HERE Maps) and little bit in Asia too. Accuracy is exceptional even in off-road condition (forest paths are marked too). What concerns itinerary planning and generally direction calculation I noticed that in town is better to use Route Planning Method "FAST" or "EAISY" rather then "SHORT" because modes really change the way algorithm chose direction. So during the trip I change them in coherence of road types I'm using during the day (town, highways or countryside). I agree with "Salenjak" that in Serbia all of my friends prefer Google maps because it's simple to use, live trafic is accurate and they drive mostly in town (we shouldn't neglect that iGO is very complex app with a lot of options which you need to know how to use in order to take best of it) but they ask me regularly to send them any available updates for iGO. In rest of European countries Google is widely used and in a case of trafic jam WAZE (many use Waze just for radars and police controls points because in normal conditions your trip will be really long and full of little streets). I tested all of them and iGO + HERE is the winner, because accuracy is the most important when you are in mountain or other places without internet (once I was lost myself in forest due to flood and road destructions so I used both iGO and Google, the result was almost the same). Mostly of errors are related to new roundabout or street direction changes (easy to solve with "Avoid Route" shortcut button on iGO). However, depends on your needs choice could be different but in term of precision, multipurpose and long range international trips, HERE are the greatest maps at the moment.
