New Chinese WinCE devices Buy\Don't Buy
I'm opening this thread just to share my awful experience with [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]device I bought from AliExpress recently. Let's put the most important problem which was the thing not getting a GPS signal aside. The screen has awful colors and likes to flicker making the user want to throw up, it's slow as hell, the OS is incomplete missing vital components like explorer.exe and some fonts, and trying to do something with the WinCe looks like [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. So don't buy it lol.
A device I can recommend is [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], pretty good for the price.
I like to hear your thoughts and recommendations if you have any experience with these new devices.

You are right about the price. The price is more or less the same let's say for the 7" because they are the most common and ordered. But for that price, I would expect it to not flicker like an old fluorescent street lamp and also get a signal. It's a bummer because the unit is really nicely built. Maybe GPS is optional on this unit who knows

As you said there are a whole lot of these clones, but there are some (like the one I mentioned) that work flawlessly. The reason I made this thread is maybe people wish to get a bit informed before ordering a device like this or leave a suggestion.

The device You recommend has only 128Mb of memory. 256 Mb is the absolute minimum now to function fluently

What new functions are we talking about?
For WinCE is not crucial at all. Primo (and what else would you put) works perfectly fine even with 64MB

I use Xgody 886 truck, 7 inch with 256MB ram, Igo here maps had mine years and never let me down. Can be bought on Ebay for about Ł40.

I have had one since 2016, the only problem i have had is that my phone would not connect to it like it does with the TomTom Rider and Garmin Zumo, Phone will not of course connect to other car TomTom's either, having said that my new phone connected the other day for the first time not had chance to test if it works as expected.Last edited by BigPhil; 4th January 2024 at 09:18 AM.
