    Hi dvazg & Lolypop000,

It works (pressing the battery icon for 5 seconds). The updater detected my Garmin and did the update. However, after trying to copy the the JCV file (which match with my current map) to various locations (e.g: Garmin Nuvi\system\JCV\JCV file; Garmin Nuvi\Gamin\JCV\JCV file or just under Garmin Nuvi\JCV\JCV file, one at a time of course) I still coudn't see the junction view. In simulation mode, pressing the upper left corner, i could see the junction view option but it is grey out. Any idea dvazg & Lolypop000? Sorry to bother you again!!

If you can see the "Junction view" button, even if it is grayed, flashing was successful. Problem you described seems to either: wrong pair of map (.img) and JCV file or you were simulating routes with no JCV images included. If you are sure that you have matching IMG and JCV files, turn off any additional maps you might have installed on the device and simulate a long route - into some other country. Then in simulation, press upper left corner and list forthcoming junctions, once you reach a junction with existing JCV image, the (bottom) button will appear.

    Hi dvazg,

I am sure that the map and JCV file are matched because i downloaded them recently from this link

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

I tried to simulate a very long route (900km) but still there is not junction view available .
Next, i looked into the map. There are two maps on my units. Once came preinstalled, and one I just downloaded from here (unlocked image file) and i copied it to Garmin Nuvi\Map (i don't have the SD card on my unit yet). Once I turn on the unit, i can see 2 maps available (under Map option) and i only selected the latest one that came with the JCV file. And still, the damn junction view doesn't show up :-). One thing i noticed was during start up, My unit showed 2 dates regarding the maps. Something like: 2009 whereis map....copyright....
    2010 whereis map....copyright....
Is this normal, dvazg? and regarding the GUPDATE file, doesn't it have to be the one when you last update the firmware? I asked because after unsuccessful at the first try (at flashing the unit), i reinstalled the firmware using the webupdater which give me another GUPDATE file. After successfully flashing the unit at the 2nd. try, i didn't have the latest GUPDATE file at hand (because i bak it up at home) so i used the first GUPDATE file which i saved in the usb stick. Could it be the reason that the junction view doesn't not show up?

    Regards,

When you turn on your nuvi, it is normal that it shows 2 different maps with 2 different dates.
Try simularing the route, by turning off the old map (go to tools ->settings -> map -> info).
If it still doesn't work, please write here the following: what is your splash screen? (go to diagnostic menu by pressing the battery icon for 5 sec, press next once, press start test and then more) - look at the number next to Splash. It should be D1340-50.
Next, where did you put the maps? Old map is probably a gmapprom.img in the .System folder. Disable it by renaming it to e.g gmapprom._img and move the new map into the same location, giving it a name gmapprom.img (if you have unl files together with maps, make sure you move them as well).
I assume, you put the correct JCV file into the JCV folder within .System folder. You can also repeat the procedure by putting JCV into Garmin/JCV/JCV file, but keep the old map disabled.
Personally, I keep my map on a SD card, in the Map folder, and JCV is in Garmin folder, also on SD card. Probably if you have map in "Map" folder on your unit, JCV should be in "Garmin/JCV" directory.

I thinks it is highy unprobable, if the splash version is correct that FW version and gupdate.gcd file would affect the outcome.

Very odd. I wonder if some models have different hardware/GPS chipsets (MTK)?
The current download for my nuvi 1250 is only up to v4.80.
    Checked again today.
Note difference to the common 5.10 here:
"nuvi 12xx ([GCD File) software version 5.10" dated February 28, 2011
    and mine (AUS/NZ model):
"nuvi 12xx (GCD File - MTK) software version 4.80" dated March 7, 2011

Oh well too bad for me.
