Default Garmin gps 2595lmt how to rollback OS to previous version 7.8 please?

    HI,

I have a Garmin 2595lmt and software is version 7.90. Previous 7.80 there was no trouble with routing mainly via toll roads here around sydney.
however after the 7.9 update i took a trip and it lead us on a goose chase in Ballarat nearly giving my wife who was driving a 2nd heart attack!
On our return to Sydney it did not want to use the toll roads even though the avoidances, no toll and no traffic was definitely off. I have toggled these and repowered several times to try and restore good routing operation.

Can I rollback to earlier software? There has to be a way to do it as further testing has shown there is some ghost in the unit wanting to redirect it away from main roads. I have reset all data in the test (volume, hold topright hand side for 10 seconds menu) and it appeared as a new unit but still it is not calculating the route as 7.8 did.

come on guys. someone must have a method or opinion on this. I have backups via Garmin Express but there doesnt seem to be an OS backup there. Is there any way i can get a 7.8 image or something an over write the complete device?

    thanks.

Above you can find previous versions of firmware.

First backup your complete nuvi including the hidden /.system folder (Wise thing to do on a monthly basis)
Then delete gupdate.gcd inside the hidden /.system folder (this file is your 7.9 firmware file)
Download the 7.80 gcd file from the link supplied ubove (nuvi24x5and25x5_GCDFile__780.gcd)
Connect your nuvi to the computer make sure that it is set to mass storage mode.
Open the Gdc file with Webupdater and it should transfer the file to your nuvi.
After it has finished you need to disconnect nuvi from PC, Switch it on and it should flash as per a normal update.

Another method is to rename nuvi24x5and25x5_GCDFile__780.gcd to gupdate.gcd and then copy the file to the hidden /.System folder.
After Nuvi is switched On it will flash.

There is a third method which is to use updater.exe and to flash in pre-boot mode. (This is used mainly for bricked Nuvi's and is not necessary at this stage)
