Your device nuvi 1490 (as all 1xxx series device) is not compatible with new "garmin traffic trends" tech. But you have in SQLITE folder some files that contain only your data. There are files with POI have closed on map or have chanded phone number or have raiting by you (local_poi.db), millage ECO Route statistic (mlg_history.db) and some various service files generated by software (likes system.db and etc.). Another words there is not any reason copy another files to that folder...

    From post #1:

To use the junction view files, drag the entire “JCV” folder into your “Garmin” folder.( x:\Garmin\JCV )
    or
JCV in a subfolder called JCV on the SD Card
A friend abroad has a nüvi 1490. We know that the map IMG file does not go into a folder 'Garmin' but in a folder 'Map', whether it be on the unit itself or on a microSD card.

How do I interpret the term subfolder as the place for the JCV file?
Would that be the X:\Map\JCV folder or would that be the X:\JCV folder? (X: being the drive designation for either the nüvi or the microSD)

JVC isnt a map and it doesnt go in Map folder,
In 3790 eg it goes in System hidden directory in a JCV folder.
If you put it in sd card , it goes in a Garmin directory in a subfolder named JCV.
    I think it's the same in 1490 :System/JCV.
But in other devices it can be different.

Here is the subtle difference that I believe I now understand. The nuvi 1490 card map files are in a folder "map", and the JCV file goes in a folder called "garmin" as catymag said....I did not understand this and put the JCV subdirectory and the img file in the "map" folder and was not able to get JCV to work...Older nuvis, such as the 265WT, put the maps in the "garmin" directory on the card so the JCV directory for those nuvis would in "garmin", but the card on the 1490 appears to require both a "garmin" (for the JCV) and "map" directory. On the 1490, there are different versions of the same map (that uses JCV) both in main memory (.system\JCV) and card, so there are JCV subdirectories in both places....whew...
    Thx Catymag

Garmin will automatically determine your current time zone. From your location, it will calculate which time zone you are in, thanks to a small map file in the unit's memory. This is a nice feature if you frequently change time zones, because your GPS's time will update automatically.
Is there a list of units which support this feature? My 855 doesn't seem to....

    TIA,

Seems that automatic time zone setting was not available for any nuvi previous to the 2x5 series which introduced that option. The option depends on a special time zone map (gmaptz.img) on the unit as well as the necessary firmware to make use of that map which has the time zone

Ah bummer - I tried adding the map to the 855 but nothing changed. I assumed its firmware simply didn't support this, but hoped there might be some trick I'd missed or overlooked

Oh well, it's a pain, but I can live with changing timezones manually (still).

    Thanks!
