He wants to rollback to version 2.50 so routing with OSM maps work again.
I do not know why Garmin went down that road only to get users to buy City Navigator maps.
It is very hard to try and use these maps on an eTrex 22x or 32x and drive.
It is easier to use a smartphone and a GPS app for car driving.
These GPS units were made for hiking.....
The right tool for the correct job at hand.

• Disabled automotive routing on OSM maps.

• Fixed routing on City Navigator maps.
I for one do not need City Navigator maps on my eTrex 22x I use OSM rout-able maps.
But they no longer work after the firmware updates to the eTrex 22x
On my GPSMAP 66s the same OSM maps works with no problems at all. It routes me to the correct paths to take.
On the eTrex 22x it just show a straight line to the same location.
I also would like to be able to roll back to firmware v2.50.

I have found a manual(German), the main points are:Code:Please Login or Register to see the links
1) Download the desired firmware as a ZIP archive to your computer.
2) After the download unzip the file and rename it to GUPDATE.GCD if necessary.
3) Copy the GUPDATE.GCD file to the /garmin folder on the connected GPS device.
4) In the last step disconnect the GPS from the computer. Turn on the device and the update will start automatically. Now you should leave the device alone and never switch it off. After some waiting time the firmware is updated and the device starts with the usual start screen.

@ VadimK
I downloaded the file eTrex22x_32x_Webupdater__250_JNX.rar
Unpacked eTrex22x_32x_Webupdater__250_JNX.gcd
Where I am very unsure: Can I just rename the file and follow upper scheme?
Where is the special feature in "JNX". I did not understand that. I would like to avoid my Garmin to scrap.

I hate for my first post on this forum to be a necropost, however I don't really want to start a new thread over this. I googled a few variations of my question and did not get much.
I want to use the Birdseye feature to get some imagery of where I am going to ride my motorcycle. I want to compare old tracks ahead of time over the satellite imagery in Basecamp as accurately as possible (no google earth screenshot guessing) but after I got the subscription, BaseCamp is forcing me to update my Etrex 32X from 2.50 to 2.70 to use Birdseye.
I use CityNavigator and OSM topo routable all the time for cars and dirt bikes offroad, and do not really want to give up the ability to use OSM routable when the CityNavigator doesn't have accurate streets in that area.
I was thinking of just updating my unit, getting some birdseye images, and the downgrading it back to see if it works and lets me still use the imagery. I suppose if I can't get it to work, I bought it with PayPal so I could just get my money back.
My two questions are:
1. Is that 2.50 firmware version region specific? Meaning when I follow the downgrade instructions and install that firmware, will my device be in Russian? Or will it have any affects at all using the device in the USA?
2. Users of the 32X with 2.70 version, are OSM maps still routable for things other than cars? Like dirt bike, motorcycle, bicycle, walking, etc. I suppose that would be sufficient for me in most circumstances, and I could live with the 2.70 update. Motorcycle and car routing should be just about identical.
Thanks all.

I have gone to Asprin624 link and downloaded firmware 2.5 and 2.7 so what are you saying that 2.5 is not there and or what is wrong with it?
