    If you have in folder Garmin trafficprovider.xml downloaded with webupdater then your unit support TMC.
    Let us know what HWID dou you have on this unit and what version of FW dou you have installed.

    In the GarminDevice.xml file, I notice:

    <Model>
    <PartNumber>006-B0827-00</PartNumber>
    <SoftwareVersion>760</SoftwareVersion>
    <Description>nüvi 250W</Description>
    </Model>

    So that would mean HWID = 0827. There is no file in the Garmin folder by the name trafficprovider.xml. Can I copy this from a nüvi 255WT which I also have, or is this file unit specific?

    FW version = 7.60. This is unusual for a nüvi 250W, as the latest version for this model is supposed to be v4.10. That makes me think it is loaded with FW for nüvi 255W for reasons explained by Neil in post #2. Assuming that is correct, it would also mean this unit should be traffic capable...

    It is normally. This device is almost nüvi 255W but without a some function. I do not remember if TMC is supported or no. trafficprovider.xml is not needed in any case because all data present in FW for this model. Check please RemoteSW folder with 006B048201.bin and 006B090100.gcd files there in that the first Nuvi 2x5 do not have preloaded SW for TMC.
    Garmin, how much is 30 pieces of silver for Judas today? Were they worthy for crucifix of GPSPower?

    Not fully sure what you mean, but the RemoteSW folder does contain the two mentioned files plus a few others:

    Not necessarily, what i meant is that the firmware supports traffic ['it runs 2x5W fw which is traffic capable']. The traffic function may still be blocked, but maybe Loly can help with that.

    Loly, would flashing a 2x5W logo help?
