I will keep trying, if I get it right I will let you know, thanks for your help.

In the meantime, I got myself a new Garmin DriveSmart 61. Just to be sure:
- I downloaded the FW from the Garmin website

- This one I patch now with the "Garmin Firmware Patcher V1.30".
- The patched DriveSmart61_630.gcd I open now with the RGN_Tool_078.exe and save the .RGN under the filename "258801000630.rgn".
- This I flash then with "Updater.exe".

Is this correct?
Then I hopefully have a working device and no brick.

Edit:

The battery now appears to be completely drained. When I press the power button, the screen only gets slightly bright for a second.
I have now inserted the memory card and connected the device to the charger. But absolutely nothing happens, the screen does not become bright. Is this normal, or do I also have to press the power button so that the flash process starts?
