thanks..the thread i open was for something else, as now i am having another issue.
what you said i did already, and as you said if i dud the cure i can see the mass storage. but i i reinstall the original i dose not boot or show is connected..
i did try to keep Garmin folder in it, but still the same, dose not boot. even to do reset it dose not see.
mine is nuvi 52...

and what is RGN? is it the .gcd file?

just to summary my issue
1- i had working unit but no maps or voice as each time i plug it say format memory, as i i cannot see the ROM
2-i did the cure process, and from there the unit is on garmin logo only
3-i can access via cure and see the rom, i did kept .system file still no boot

can you support me for the .system files? it should be contains what files? if i connect to garmin app, it dose not see it to update it
issue if i use cure the original process, i don't see the ROM if i connect the GPS
