D*amned good advice and doesn't get given enough. I couldn't update the text on a 1390T just recently, until i found and deleted D143400.zip. This is from the backup:
The unit should get rid of them itself.
If you have any Zip files in your Nuvi delete them.
Zip files are used to update texts. (and probably other files)
If the old zip file is present the update will not happen.
The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits.

Sometime .zip stay in nuvi, you can remove it or add in Garmin folder.
After nuvi restart text will update and in next restart again and zip from nuvi disappear.
This problem with .zip is when you update more text at the same time, like prx and trf...
This is a bug in updates prepared by Garmin. They are in a form of zip, which should be saved in \Garmin directory. On next restart nuvi unpacks this zip putting updates to proper directories, just like it is organized in zip archive. For some time Garmin offers updates which include itself inside zip. I mean that inside zip is next zip with the same data. After unpacking of original zip copy goes to the root of nuvi.
