For ten year the life give me no chance with nuvi after chkdsk wont boot anymore. Only success in resolving problem took place especially with old series.

If Chkdsk Messes UP Nuvi We have found the fault, Format with RMPREPUSB and start again.
If there is nothing wrong with the filesystem Chkdsk will do nothing anyway.
Windows 7 often runs Chkdsk on the Nuvi drive Without Bad results. (After using Nuvi on XP and then using Nuvi on 7)
If the Nuvi tries to overwrite a corrupt file and fails it will reboot.
