I have decided to make some more serious test. I have put my nuvi 37xx/34xx next to other reference device and logged satellite signal over about 20 minutes at each test. Then I have averaged signal value form logs. Here are results, blue is 34xx/37xx signal, red is reference:

My nuvi converted some times ago to 34xx, firmware 7.60

Nuvi converted back to 37xx firmware 3.60

Nuvi 37xx updated to firmware 5.00

Nuvi converted again to 34xx 7.60

I would say, that reception is better with firmware for 34xx.

    Hi Kanupus,
Which software you has used to generate comparative charts and in what situation? The two gps were connected to the computer and management software at the same time?
    tks

If you do a drive test, why don't you register a log?
There exist diagnostic log, start logging in gpx format and then you would be able to analyze real precision of GPS.

I agree that this procedure is very important to consider, as well indicated by the X-trail, but for it to be really reliable a reference is necessary, i.e, another GPS side by side, preferably a 3790 original.

I have used LibreOffice for charts

Seriously: on satellite window long press "Hight" filed and you will find GPS SNR logging window. There you can start logging, in menu "Start CN0 log". At each 10 seconds GPS writes satellite status to a CSV log in \Logs\snr\ or \.System\Logs\snr\. I simple got a good satellite fix at both GPS, put them near window and started logging for 20 minutes.
