Lifetime updater is a clumsy and buggy program. Use GarminMapUpdater instead. Required version of firmware you can set in \Garmin\GarminDevice.xml using text editor.

I manged to get my firmware backto 4.90 and the voice command options shows up. Like others, I also have that "not availabe in American English problem" I tried to get the voice recognition file from the Garmin MyDashboard, however, for the "System update" option, it lists the voice recognition files plus firmware 5.0.. I will probably lose the voice command function if I update to firmware 5.0 again right? how do you choose to just download the voice recognition software? in addition I am using Windows 7.. after I choose "show hidden files and folder" I still don't see the .System folder that people are talking about (where I can put the ASR and srd files)? All I can see inside my "Garmin nuvi" drive is (Folders: Demo, Garmin, GPX, Help, Keyboards, Pictures, POI, Text, Themes, Tutorials, Vehicle, Voice) . VolumeIcon.icns file, autorun file, and nuvi_drive icon. I dont see any system folder at all. Help
