Looks like many tourist devices (at least oregon and etrex 20) have a forced mass storage mode..


Maybe it's better to disconnect the cable before powering off.

I've tried it with and without the batteries and I've tried running the Updater before and after disconnecting. I'm away from my computer now but will try some more combinations tonight.
