Thread: nuvi 205w bricked?

Thank lolypop000 for the firmwares . i think there is a hardware problem because i updated the nuvi with the cure that you send me, the pc detects the garmin as mass storage but the error in the autorun of virus stills, checking the folder structure found a folder calling recycled with a virus inside calling J:\RECYCLER\S-5-3-42-2819952290-8240758988-879315005-3665\jwgkvsq.vmx. So i try to delete everthing is ok until i unplug/plug the device again , and the folder still. the same problem if i try to delete a file or another folder. checking in the internet the file infected its a virus that infected in usb storages, trying everything to remove but until moment cannot removed even trying delete in linux. and cannot write nothing in the storage of garmin because hangs os and the systema cannot recognized the garmin until power off/on.
In the other hand use another cure make follow "How to make a service (cure) firmware for your Garmin unit " but manually withouth the garmin cure software and adding
Find and Replace everywhere in the .rgn (boot+fw_main):

so with this firmware its the same with you cure, but i can start the program, cannot detect satellites , enter to the "check system" hold the battery icon and the ram passed but the rom stills in checking. and the strange is that the model is 2w not 205w. Thing someone change the firmware and its not the original. Because a buy used in ebay
