After cure firmware is properly loaded using preboot mode, the device should revert to Mass Storage Mode not Media Transport Protocol.

Rather than your 580's internal folders and files showing under Windows File Explorer in MTP as you've assumed, it may simply be that your PC isn't set to show hidden and system files. Read Post #5 here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].

    Hey guys.

    Edge 1030 Plus.

I managed to get the right .GCD file. Used GarminCure3.exe as admin to create original .RGN file. I'm able to preboot. Updater.exe is in the same folder as GarminCure3.exe BUT I got an error message stating that the is NO USB device. Still, I can access my Edge folders. Tried to place the RGN file in the same folder as updater.exe and GarminCure3.exe but no luck.

Any idea how to fix this?

    Best regards,

    Fred

What are you wanting to fix now? Either the Edge wasn't actually "bricked" at all, or, if it was initially, then GarminCure3's RGN was in fact loaded correctly. That's evidenced by you having access to the device's folders.

    Hello everyone,
I’m having an issue with an Garmin Astro 320 that is stuck on the Garmin logo during startup.
I tried following the Kunix tutorial, but unfortunately without success. I flashed the cure firmware, however the device still does not appear as an external disk/drive on the computer. I also tried flashing the original firmware again for testing, but that didn’t help either.
In the past, I performed the same recovery procedure successfully on another device, so I’m not sure what’s different this time.
I also attempted to back up Region 41, but that failed as well.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on what else I could try?

    @kagourakos
Not being able to dump non-vol or any other region to an SD is expected when a device has stuck on the logo splash screen because the card is looked for only after maps and other essential files are loaded during the boot cycle.

There are 3 possible reasons to explain why Cure3 fw is not working to re-enable Mass Storage Mode:
    (i) You've made some error in making the cure fw (unlikely); or
(ii) the Cure3 method doesn't work for your astro's firmware (also unlikely); or
(iii) the device is not 'soft-bricked' at all and rather is experiencing a flash chip problem.

If you've made multiple attempts making the cure fw and also tried QuickCure3 unsuccessfully then the astro may well be in the early stages of a hardware failure and no software methods can help that as you'd understand.
