Yeah, unfortunately absolutely same here with the 1350. It does not boot (after a map upgrade) - only "loading maps" appear but for hours w/o any success. Also tried upper left corner and "RM" area for pre-boot but nothing happens. After a while it get me few times to calibration - but that is all - no menus, no anything. Cure 3 has a grey "USB port", only "COM ports" is active - so no chances with it too

For Nuvi 13xx 14xx do this.
Make sure that you have loaded Garmin Drivers on the Windows Computer.
    Start Updater.exe
Make sure that the nuvi is switched off.
Plug usb cable into the computer but not into the nuvi.
Now place your finger on and hold the top left corner of the screen with the nuvi still off.
Plug in the usb cable. It should enter pre-boot mode now. (Ding Dong)
If it doesn't happen try inserting a memory card or removing a memory card and try again.
Another trick that seems to solve some issues on 13xx 14xx is holding the power switch down for longer than 30 seconds and then plugging in usb cable.

    Let me thanks first!
Which one Updater.exe you do mention?

The Ding-Dong never happened unfortunately. There is a short period (few seconds) when it appear in Windows but the Cure 3 failed to update/cure it. It does not happen every time but few times when I've tried to pre-boot it. Most of the times it does not appear. sh*t

If you have win7 install garmin usb drivers as Administrator
Make updater.exe compatible to win xp sp 3 and then run as Administratior.

Here you can create cure and original FW and also you have updater.exe inside:

I've used exactly the same link (same exe's) without success. The only not tried it is via changing/adding memory card.

Thank you very much for your effort!
