Used ATTO Disk Benchmark32 v2.34 to test this before and after the update 6.30 > 6.40-Improved map and content transfer speeds.
Write speed +25%
Read speed -25%
meaning that updating the unit is faster, backup is slower.

Probably the same driver in:
nuvi 24x5/25x5 v6.40
nuvi 30/40/50 v2.50
