Correct,if you have bigger file that original you get error and nothing changes in NVM.
Nuvi work ok.
Don't worry too much.
1- The logos are in PNG format. This is a compressed format which will depend on the image content. The Garmin logo becomes very small, but my Angry Birds logo is pretty large. All of this is normal.
2- Flashing extra data will not hurt the GPS unless maybe you flash something that is bigger than the reserved space for the logo region at which point the gps will probably simply refuse to flash it.

Ι have try it.
Tnx for the help.
Good job
I have some strange issue after converting 37xx to 34xx.
I've tried to use CNE NTU 2012.30. nuvi shows that map is installed, but when I go to look at it, nothing is displayed.
At the same time when I just use selected regions, it works. I wonder it there is a restriction on .img file size or filename for Unicode maps?
Have you master resetted it ? (clear non vol)
You have to navigate to get to the good.
Galaxy S5 Kitkat 4.4.2 / Nuvi1200->1250 / Nuvi3790T->34xx / Nuvi 2200 / Nuvi 66 / Oregon 600
I did a reset just after FW update.
Next thing I've tried, is to split CN Europe Unicode into many small files (1 file - 1 country), but nuvi displays only 2 of them in installed maps menu, and doesn't even show others (I think it shows the first two files from Map directory). An interesting fact that autorouting works between these files.
Any ideas why only 2 maps with same FID are shown? And what is the problem with 2.4Gb file of entire CN Europe Unicode.
I use 8Gb flash card to store imgs.
I think probably these are issues have nothing to do with conversion, but with how you selected Maps in Mapsource.
Probably some maps borders overlap. In Nuvi ,2 maps with the same FID are shown as just one map-
No problem with CNE NTU map in converted 37xx.

From reading here and referred links, would it have been a good idea to backup NVRAM of 37xx prior to making change to 34xx?
Not entirely clear how to do so. I know that ldr.bin and txt file on sdcard can achieve this but unsure of syntax for full back up. Is there more info on this available?
After installing unoriginal firmware good way to clear NV is
ergn,41
But you lose your model number (not big problem)
And NEVER erase regions 05 and 43 - it kill your device.
