There is a small typo in your post#83.There shouldn't be "0" in the second line in the following quoted lines :
Install Garmin StreetPilot2.33.apk
- External memory (storage/extSdCard/0)
• storage/extSdCard/ Android/data/com.garmin.android.apps.gmobilext/files/Garmin

It firstly made me missed(looked over) this section of instructions, but after trying everything else I came back to this, and it works perfectly for my rooted Note 2 with modified hybrid Note3/s4/s5 ROM.
