From a user's post on another forum

I put the .gpi files in the directory "Garmin N America/Library/sdcard/POI". Only the directory "Garmin N America/Library/sdcard" exists; you need to create the POI subfolder.

As I mentioned earlier, when you put a .gpi file here, you can search for pois (exact poi name) from the "Where to" search bar and it will find them. You won't find them if you try searching from the 'Points of Interest' menu, nor will it display any sort of custom poi categories. In other words, you need to know what you are searching for. If you label your custom poi with a common leading label, this might be ok, but you still won't be able to browse for ones near you.

One more thing I found: I created a .gpi file with proximity alerts using POI Loader (saved it locally & then moved it to the iphone), and the proximity alerts worked!! I was very surprised to find this!

Could you help on that?
Might be a 'write permission' issue. Try this, in ifile set 'application names' on in settings (click on gear icon - bottom left). Browse to /var/mobile/applications/ and click on the blue arrow next to W. Europe. Set 'Apply Hierarchically' on, then make sure that owner and group show 'mobile' and that user has 'read, write, execute' permission. Click done.
