A silly question from me " I got it today" a M8 gave me his 30X, said your old yellow Etrex may fail 1 day and I don't need this so do what ever, what do you need to know to answer the request to updates " he even forgot the cable" no probs have a lead and I can install Garmin express if needed. Am going away in a couple weeks, saw this post thought I'd ask FIRST like a lot of others.

    eTrex 20x/30x Firmware 3.00 Published

Changes made from version 2.90 to 3.002019)

Improved text placement on list pages for Arabic language

Spoiler: Lastest version if you want to do it manually
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    The How to:

    • Connect your Garmin GPSr via USB and enter Mass Storage Mode
    • Download the desired firmware version for your device
    • Copy the *.gcd file to [GPSr]\Garmin\*.gcd
    • Rename the *.gcd file to gupdate.gcd
    • Disconnect and reboot the GPSr
    • When prompted by the GPSr, select 'Yes' to install the update
    • Once the update has completed, the GPSr will restart and delete the gupdate.gcd file

But I would still do it via Garmin Express to play it safe if you really need it.
