have done this?
Unzip the Folder FAM_1088 to C:\Garmin. Execute the "Land Navigator Italia v1.reg".
Are you running Win 7?--this wont run on 7--
--mapsource is no good on windows 7 -64 bit

C:\Garmin\FAM_1088

Executed the .reg

And no it's a Windows Vista-64bit System, not Windows7
Actually Germany Topo V2 and City Navigator Europe 2009 are running on my System.

Any idea?

I fixed it myself!

The reg was wrong for me...
Don't know why.

Had to change it from your original:

Thanks a lot for this. It didn�t work for me to install the map en start the reg-file (win7). I used MapSetToolKit to put the map in MapSource and that seems to work.

It's a good solution too, but if you turn off UAC in Windows 7 you could use .reg file (many MapSource installation are with adding registry keys)

look at this one instead :
