I'm using a Nuvi 255T and it works great with SD. You can also try it with MapSource and load a part of it in the Nuvi,but normally it has to work on SD. Maybe there is something wrong with the .img. Which .img map do you want to put on SD? I could give it a try on my Nuvi.
