You have to make a directory "Garmin" on your SD card and there you have to put in the map. Then choose map: Tools - Settings - Map - Map Info.

Hey jimmy8, I've tried loading the info as you suggested (even before my original post) but the Nuvi doesn't recognize the card or the map. When I have it connected to the computer, I can see the device, along with the SD card with the files. But that's about it. I'm unable to load the NEW .img, due to the file size limitations set on the nuvi. Any other options would be great at this point.

I'm using a Nuvi 255T and it works great with SD. You can also try it with MapSource and load a part of it in the Nuvi,but normally it has to work on SD. Maybe there is something wrong with the .img. Which .img map do you want to put on SD? I could give it a try on my Nuvi.
