just one IMG per sd put in a folder named Garmin-
in nuvis:
you can swap them changing sd- if you have both in your device and they shows the same country or region ,deselect the one you'r not using-- or merge IMGs with gmaptool application in one unique IMG--max 4gb
on phones you can have more than a map- rename the second one gmapsup2.img or merge IMGs with gmaptool application in one unique IMG-- max 2gb
You cant use contemporarly two routable maps of the same region -deselect one in the menu.
but you can have a topo and a routable
