Post here please your help request regarding Garmin

Hello everybody, can you show me how to use the files gmap3d.img & D1279050A.JCV in garmin XT? I just copied these filed to Garmin XT folder but I don't know how to make them work. My phone is HTC-Win6.1

Hi everyone.

I have Garmin n�vi 205W. Bought from USA.

I want to use it with Turkey and Europe map.

I downloaded Garmin Navcity Turkey 2009.06 - mapsource+IMG

İnstalled the software to my PC. When I try to transfer Turkey map to Garmin n�vi 205W, it comes with an error.

The system cannot find the path specified:
C:\GARMİN\FAM_848\I0000350.TYP

But the file exist.

What should i do? I am a total noob at this stuff.

In this post

only working link is for IMG and not for MapSource version.
Please download MapSource version from here

and install it on PC

If it is not working, download files in attachment, unpack it with WinZip or WinRar
and compare files in unpacked FAM_848 folder with files in C:\Garmin\FAM_848 folder on PC, if any file is missing (not "FAMILY_848.reg") or is different in size or somethin, just copy all files from downloaded file to PC and overwrite all.

If still not working, double-click on "FAMILY_848.reg" file (at question answer "Yes") to register map in MapSource.

It should work now.

My Garmin came with Alpe part of Europe. This map is old and I have CNE 2010.30 installed also. Is it possible to erase this old map? Can I just erase it and do I need to do something else

Yes, but first copy it somewhere on PC (backup, just in case ...), erase it and then rename second map (CNEU 2010.30) same as old erased map. If it is locked and You have .unl file rename .unl file too.

help needed with either nuvi 300t or mobile xt

can some one help me to get city navigator of barcelona on to either of these devices

have tried to downloa the whole lot from a rapidshare link on here but can't get a free user slot for the last THREE days

I have recently shifted from XP to W7 (64 bit) on my PC

In XP I had both Garmin City Navigator Southeastern Asia v4.50 NT and FiD57 ID3 Thailand Street Map 10 EN installed and running properly on Mapsource (6.15.7).

But I can get neither to install running under W7. I have tried in a couple of directories, but when I click on the "install.bat" file, I go into DOS, and under "Adding registry keys" come up with ERROR: access is denied

However, I was able to correctly "install" the new Australia/NZ 2010.30 successfully (after unrar-ing it to c/program data/garmin/maps).

Any advice welcome.

I am also aware I can install the respective .img files into Mapsource, but would prefer not to to lose the functionality that entails, if possible.
