Post here please your help request regarding Garmin

the reason for the above mentioned malfunction was aparently the maps geing mapsource versions which I did install not using mapsource but datatransfer as .img file. Now I downloaded a non ms version installed it as .img and it is working perfectly. Thanks for your support catymag....much appreciated.

hi there..
got problem..
i install v5.00.00 in 6210 navigator..
cannot reach even 3 bar of gmobilext signal..
only 1 bar..
why?
help me how to solve this messy problem

Is that with the internal GPS? iGPS in mobiles are very low quality and take their time to get a connection etc. and I dont think its possible to boost the signal without modding your phones hardware.
Would recommend getting an external BT GPS reciever, only about £30 for a 52 channel one which can cold start in 30 seconds or so.

Quite a good map of Kazakhstan, on the Alma-Ata have street names.
Also included:
- Lower Volga
- South Ural
- A bit of Western Siberia and Altai
- Almost all of Uzbekistan
- All of Kyrgyzstan
- A bit of Turkmenistan
- A bit of Azerbaijan

1. I have a Garmin img file (but NOT the original MapSource file). Is there anyway of viewing the image file in MapSource? Any ideas?

2. Do you have the map ID for the Kazakhstan img above?

the site where i found is down now, i'll visit next to see but i think that the map is unlocked

Mapsource may not recognize 3rd-party img files
GPS Map Manager is claimed to load custom img files into MapSource, but I haven't tried it.

GPS Map Manager will add custom maps (IMG & TDB) to
your Mapsource Program as a new Mapsource title.

Your are right - the Kazakhstan img map is unlocked and NO Map ID required. Very good map. Thank you.

I will try the GPS Map Manager. Thank you for going the extra mile.

Awesome work on getting the India Map.........hav been wantng ths for soooooooooooo long......

D entire thng, Garmin Xt as well as India Map, works like a charm....

being a bit greedy, any chance of having more detailed maps for specific cities in India, lets say Mumbai, Delhi

Also, since its not possible to have sumthng like a satellite view in Garmin (like in Google Maps), sumtimes it becomes difficult to select destination point or route......

is thr a possibility of transferring favourites frm Google Maps to Garmin....

P.S. - Already searched n read abt Communicator plugin, but for tht will need Laptop as a transferring medium........looking for sumthng using Mobile only
