I am from india. I am using garmin mobile xt on N82 with garmin city navigator maps Garmin City Navigator India 2009 V4 (last quarter). I find this map most accurate in route than the recently released MMI for garmin. The MMI maps for garmin has lot more POI than the city navigator map though the routes and road map are not accurate. If it is possible to export the POI alone from the MMI map and merge it with city navigator map then it would be wonderful ?. can it be done?. If so can you suggest me how can it be done?.

Sorry not possible coz NT format is unknown,
can extract POIs from non NT maps only, using MapEdit

OK, I feel like a moron asking this, I'm sure there's a simple answer, but I'm just not finding it anywhere...
So I bought my Nüvi 350 when it was a new model and it came with pre-loaded POI's for restaurants, garages, airports etc.
I assume that these are stored in the POI.gpi file in the /Garmin/POI directory, is that correct?
Question is how to I update these? I see lots of stuff about creating custom POI's, but I'm not interested in that, I just want all the standard ones up-to-date. I expected this to be something I'd find in MapSource/City Navigator, but I don't see much there either.
It's driving me nuts now, so someone please put me out of my misery...

you can add all the POIs you want in POI folder, you can find them on garmin sites sometimes or in this section [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

One other question on updating my North America map on the nuvi265 (it's currently version 2010.40).
I downloaded the 2011.10 gmap folder (unlocked) and copied it to c:\documents and settings\all users\application data\garmin\maps. This is a new install on a new PC so there was no version 2010.40 there from before. The new version shows up nicely in Mapsource as "unlockable".
1- How do I generate a full IMG to replace the old 2010.40 IMG on the device? I can't figure out how to quickly select the whole map. Hate to do it sector by sector. (Sorry if this is a really stupid question).
2- The file on the device is GMAPPROM.IMG. How does one replace it? Do I have to create a GMAPSUPP.IMG and then rename it and use Windows Explorer to move/copy it to the device?
3- There is a GMAPPPROM.UNL file on the device. Do I just leave that alone or do I need a new one?

Thanks again!
to select the whole map whithout missing any part ,keep it little and select it all, like shown here
create the gmapsupp.img , you'll find it in C:\Garmin , rename exactly like the old one, connect your device and replace it --it's better you backup the old one on your pc before replacing it- The GMAPPPROM.UNL file is the old map GMAPPPROM.UNL file, backup it with the old map too and you wont need it with the new one coz it's unlocked-
hi, I have a Europe map copied from a 1370t nuvi , how can i unlock and sent to my other nuvi ?
Moved to proper section.
Just copy map file (gmapsupp.img) to another device and put unlock key generated with [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] in file gmapsupp.unl in folder with map file
