In a moment of inspiration, I fought off my laziness, read and followed Ms Caty's clear instructions, and am now the proud possessor of a working City Navigator Thailand 2014.20 and patched JCV on my Nuvi 52LM.
I would like to say thanks, but apparently this is not allowed.

Now you need just the official link for future updates, no annoying slow hosts links. Is'nt it better?
You have to navigate to get to the good.
