Read your previous posts again but it's not completely clear to me what you've done. Maybe the gmap was only unlocked for the CNEuroNTU_2015_20.tdb file in the Product1 folder which would allow you to work with the gmap folder in MS and MI and you've therefore generated a locked image. Have you checked the img in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] to see if it's locked? Or just run [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] on it and try again.

hi Neil, i have unlocked the IMG with PGFT and the IMG works fine on GPSMap62 (Details, Routing etc.) ... but it does not work on the zumo340, unfortunately ...
i have tried many ways of creating the IMG, all lead to this result
i also used the locked IMG from the Forum Posts, unlocked it as recommended - same result ...
this is why i am a Little lost now
is thewre anybody in the Forum who succeeded in installing the map on zumo340 ?
thxs
Protected firmware devices give "cannot authenticate map" error when you load a map without its .gma and .unlzumo 3x0 had an update to V3.80 about a month ago. Maybe the new protection has been included
Do you get this error?
I think there is another reason.
If you have old CNE map in zumo, backup it along .gma and .unl and try to remove it.
You have to navigate to get to the good.

ciao catymag
i actually do not get error messages
i did not mess with the built-in central europe map
i installed the full europe map image on SD Card
in the zumo map selection menu i can see both maps and can select them if i wish
i deselected the built-in central europe map and selected the full europe (SD based) map
still no error message
if i then switch to the zumo screen view i only see the basemap
and if i switch to the routing screen and try to enter an address i get the message 'no map data found'
i believe it must be possible to work with SD based maps in the zumo as well, because Garmin offers to buy additional maps and feed them into the zumo through SD
what is basically wrong here ? do i do something wrongly (not sure, since the SD based IMG works fine on other Garmin devices) or is this mission impossible (due to Garmin new protection stuff) ?
if i delete my built-in map and replace it with the full europe map, where do i get the files you mentioned above ?
mille grazie
I was actually agreeing with you and defending your honour Miss G [for Grumpy]. I mentioned 'earlier V20.11 EU DEM' because there were actually 2 in 2010, both with version 20.11 but with slight variance in the Part No. [D224900AG013 and D224900BG013]. The earliest was the larger sized V20.11 with header date 23.04.2010, the next was the more-compressed V20.11 you've mentioned above with header date 16.09.2010 and the latest is V20.12 header date 10.01.2012. Both the later V20.11 [your mention above] and latest V20.12 [aka D2249750A.IMG with Part No. D224975AG013] have same size of 317,841,408 bytes, same 288 maps [as does the earliest V20.11], and therefore the map content is the same in all 3 DEM maps. Stands to reason if the earliest and latest have the same mapping data then so does the intermediate one. Doesn't matter whether NT or NTU detail map is used with any of the 3 maps regardless of the original source of the DEM, i.e. supplied with a non-unicode or unicode version unit as you said. The header date of the first V20.11 of 23.04.2010 aligns with the April 2010 release of 3790 which originally had NT EU mapping factory loaded.
From what I can see, the 2nd V20.11 and V20.12 are identical apart from the header info date & P/No. Although the first V20.11 has the same data as the other two it's just less compressed. In short, it doesn't much matter which one is used. The larger map may draw a little quicker if space isn't a problem.

I now see that you have Europe Central map on board. You've perhaps not understood what catymag is suggesting. As other possibilities have been eliminated and the card works in another unit, it may be that the gma & unl codes for Eu C map in the internal memory of your zumo are interfering with the proper operation of the unlocked all EU map on the card.
Like any other card-capable Garmin unit universally, your zumo can read a detail map on the card in Garmin root folder named gmapsupp.img. You have the naming and path correct as you see it in map info to select it, so then please try what she's sensibly suggested, back up the EC .img and any .gma/.unl files and remove them entirely from the unit as de-selecting the CE map may not be sufficient.

hi neil, you were right - i did not fully understand catymag's suggestion - oki, i will remove the on-board map and see how it goes
small additional question - how to deal with the JCV files ? on-board JCV files are only for central europe ...
where shall i put the all europe JCV files ? add or replace on-board JCV files ...
wow, that is a lot of 'jailbreaking' - almost worse than on iPhone - gg
catymag, neil - you are the greatest - IT WORKS ;-))))
can you just help me on with the JVC files - and then i am there !
btw - if i don't use voice commands, i can skip the ASR files, can i ?
which other files will in need to copy to the .sys ?
