That's more than most noobs would know, and you're correct in all that [umm [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and knowledgeable, maybe he really isn't a US native]. Best to always have 'unofficial' maps on the SD leaving the OEM/official map on the device but unchecked in 'Map Info', then if you have a problem just pull the card out.

Maybe a typo and Roger meant 2xxx, but in any case there are models other than US/EU 2xx that do support JunctionView, e.g. SG/MY:

It seems that the posted new NA map updates, ver. 2014.20, as with the prior 2014.10 maps, has again preceded the official release by Garmin and it would be an interesting story to know how this was accomplished. At least I haven't read anywhere that the new maps are available for updating from Garmin.
Since I haven't seen any updated ASR or SRX files, will these files not be available until Garmin officially releases them?

You try with this Tip by starting post?
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]Warning: there is a faulty file in gmap folder (CNNANT_2014_20_trf.trf), download it and after installing CNNAM replace it in gmap folder
(C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Maps\City Navigator North America NT 2014.20.gmap).
For me works charm
Bye,bye
My pleasure! It's a little OT here, but yes you can convert your 255W if it's HWID 0827 only [don't try if it's MTK chip though, from memory that's HWID 1091]. Use only the original US boot bin though rather than flashing the full SG fw and there are other precautions. There is a thread somewhere in here i recall. You may be disappointed with the results, lousy TTS voices for a start and display of JCV is flaky anyway. You do get LA, displayed differently to US/EU type lane assist, and highway mode [i think] too. I've converted my 255W & my son's 265W to SG and then back to US and then finally converted to 465T truckie's nuvi with LA etc [no jcv but all else works perfectly] again using 2x5W boot.bin.
