US/EU fw devices cannot use any Asian JCV files, which are encrypted. Some models (e.g. 1xxx series) will crash & reboot when trying to show an asian JV. Others such as your 3490 will pop a black screen. Because all Asian jcv files are encrypted differently, asian devices see only their own jcv and cannot see other asian jcvs, but they show a more polite message about needing xx software to see them.Originally Posted by suger4spice
