For Junction view, you need to have the JCV files.
For Junction view, you need to have the JCV files.
Ok...right.
If instead it is a question, from post #5:
Bye,bye"Please note, these full-version maps DO NOT contain premium content such as Lane Assist and Junction View. These features only are available on the preloaded maps within your device or through a specific update for the mapping region of your device."
Correct, and for this particular CN you need the JCV files to also get Lane Assist in a JCV capable unit. With most CNs the LA info is embedded in the map file and the turn guidance arrow in the top LH corner of the map screen will also show the correct lane to take if the unit is capable of reading it, quite independent of a JV file.
Quite easy to get confused by Garmin's apparent ad hoc use of the terms: 'Junction View', 'Lane Assist' (sometimes 'Lane Info'), and Junction View with Lane Assist'. My (maybe incorrect) understanding of these terms is this: the first has Junction Views pics only, the second is usually obtained from LA info embedded in most CNs, and the third has JV & LA info in the *.jcv file so that when that file is used with a CN without 'premium content' will show both the junction views and the lane assist multiple arrows. Perhaps Caty or someone can either debunk or confirm this theory?

Hi,
I downloaded and installed in Montana 650 in SD/Garmin/gmapsupp CN India_2012_30 as per some other maps how I did it. But when it was booted, shows " Map can not be Unlocked". But it works on Garmin Nuvi 2565 for car use as SD/map/ India_2012_30. I ll bring only Montana during trip to India. Any advice will be appreciated.
Read the post above yours.

Yes, for most countries LA is included in the map sold separately. But for India it is available only in the map sold with the India units and with the map update for the India units. Maybe they need to keep at least 2 premium features exclusive for regional units, and India has no 3d!
I'd tried the JCV with the 2012.20 image and it enables only Junction view, not LA as seen here [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] . What is curious is that though actual Lane Assist which shows up in the top left is missing, with current lane guidance enabled in Garmin IOS software, it shows up very infrequently at the bottom as shown in the image (I'd captured the image at such a rare moment). Which is why I think that Lane Assist information is embedded in the map sold separately also, it is somehow just disabled. I wish I had an image sold with the unit, so that I could make a bytewise comparison and check if it's just some sort of flag byte in the file.
