Well, what do you expect? Why not try and look at the maps and compare the views for the same area?
There's a lot more information in 1:25K map areas compared to 1:50K map areas. Double resolution in one dimension gives twice amount of data. Double resolution in two dimensions (lat & long) give 4 times more data. On top of that its higher granularity of TOPO data in the 3rd dimension with more height curves.
