Question about the MapSource Version (GMAP Folder) and creating an Image with MapInstall:

After installing the Topo Germany 2012 Pro Mapsource Version, the whole map (including the "Named Trail Database") is working fine in BaseCamp. The DB-File with the Named Trail Database is properly installed in the "Additions" folder below the Topo Germany 2012 Pro GMAP folder. So far, so good.

But when I use the (patched) MapInstall 4.0.1, which is the newest version and should be aware of the new features in the Topo Maps, such as the "Named Trail Database", to create an Image (here on the local PC under "C:\Garmin"), there is no SQL subdirectory that has the DB-File (Named Trail Database) in it. First, I tried only a few Map Tiles to make the transfer test faster, but then I realized, that maybe only those trails are transferred to the IMG directory (SQL subdir), that start and end within the selected map tiles. So I tried to transfer the whole map, but the result is the same (only gmapsupp.img is created, no subdir SQL with the DB-File in it).

Does Garmin really expect people to manually copy the DB-File from the "Additions" subdir of the installed GMAP folder to the SD Card (SQL subdir)? Or did I do something wrong? Im wondering if this DB-File is only transferred if the destination is one of the few GPS Units that supports the Named Trail Database for Active Routing within the devices firmware. Does MapInstall really make a choice like that? Or is this feature just not implemented yet?

I haven't tried MapSource to transfer and see if the linked DB-File is transferred too, but I don't think so, since MapSource is years old without update and most definitely not aware of the new topo map features, such as Named Trail Database.

Can anyone confirm this? Anyone tried to transfer directly to a GPS Unit that can handle the new DB-Files?

    Thanks!
