No, nobody told it wasn't working, some ask for the typ to modify FID or else and use it may be with another map or just for testing purpose, see:

Exactly. I ask for the TYP file to use it in another map.
Everything works fine in the Topo Portugal Ciclonatur v5 (2013)

I strongly advise you not to use typ files in other maps because there is no standard!
I have examined hundreds of maps and typ files over the last decade and the lack of standardisation is horrible. Every map uses different polygons and polylines and needs a specific typ file to make them visible in the correct colour, width and pattern.
advise: download TYPViewer and change a specific typ to your own taste, it's not that difficult!
