A deviation of 500m to 600m indicates that your GPS device is currrently configured to work with official shifted maps. You can use the shift-added map in post #1 then you won't see deviations. However, the waypoints and tracks recorded are also shift-added.
If you really like to use Venus maps which have the shift corrected and to have no shift in recorded data, your GPS device must be re-configured as below:
1. Uncheck or remove all official City Navigator China and China DEM maps installed in internal memory and SD card.
2. Uncheck or remove all installed maps named gmapoem.img, China Country Map, and SCM Test Map
3. Optionally remove the file 006B082300.bin in internal mempry and SD card. Enable viewing hidden files to find it.
4. Optionally hard-reset the GPS device. Backup your important data first.

Galaxy S5 Kitkat 4.4.2 / Nuvi1200->1250 / Nuvi3790T->34xx / Nuvi 2200 / Nuvi 66 / Oregon 600
I am currently in Guangzhou(China). The Venus map works as stated in my 260W with Chinese firmware.
Very happy now![]()
Thx to everyone who posted this map.
Unfortunately neither link works from inside China.
115.com opens but when you try to download, it doesn't work.
Badongo doesn't open at all.
Fortunately the file is available from other sites.
Great work and Thx again.
HI i have downloaded the VENUS Version to my Oregon300 and gimgunlock fine. But i cant search any waypoints, like airports, restaurant ect..my oregon says there are no waypoints..any idea?
If you current position is very far from China it is normal. You must simulate position in China or use function "find near..." with one of China town.
Garmin, how much is 30 pieces of silver for Judas today? Were they worthy for crucifix of GPSPower?
Make sure you have the matching GPS device and map.
If your Garmin device is bought in China or has the capability to add shifts to coordinates received from GPS chipset then use the map from post #9. Otherwise, use the map from post #10. If not sure, try each map one at a time to see which one works for you.
do I need the gmaptool to conver this map to mapsource?
