Thanks for the corrected links. Is it just me but the map continues to appear shifted.

Did you use the Venus version? How big is the deviation? If it is less than 50 meters then the deviation is normally caused by poor GPS signal reception. Try to move to a place with open sky and see if the deviation is reduced.
I am using the Venus version from the links found in post 32. I have good GPS signal (full bars). The deviation I observed is way more than 50 meters, I'd say more than 500m. Just for added info, the area I refer to is the city of Zhuhai.
A deviation of 500m to 600m indicates that your GPS device is currrently configured to work with official shifted maps. You can use the shift-added map in post #1 then you won't see deviations. However, the waypoints and tracks recorded are also shift-added.
If you really like to use Venus maps which have the shift corrected and to have no shift in recorded data, your GPS device must be re-configured as below:
1. Uncheck or remove all official City Navigator China and China DEM maps installed in internal memory and SD card.
2. Uncheck or remove all installed maps named gmapoem.img, China Country Map, and SCM Test Map
3. Optionally remove the file 006B082300.bin in internal mempry and SD card. Enable viewing hidden files to find it.
4. Optionally hard-reset the GPS device. Backup your important data first.
