Different experiences are being reported by members regarding the use of mismatched versions of full/smallCX's and CN/CNU's. It seems there's not even any consistency as to specific model ranges that have the kind of conflicts which you have had. As well as the reports in here, there's this new report from the CityXplorer for 37xx series thread, for instance:
Maybe in some cases the answer could be as simple as having neither the CX or the CN/U on the unit itself, but having both only on the sd. Or in other cases it could be that certain model & fw combinations simply just handle the map info conflicts better than others. Or in still others whether or not the CN/CNU has been unlocked with an unlocker. Or indeed whether it's CN or CNU.... Bl**dy H*ll! It drives me crazy too.
I appreciate that you have LTM CNU on your unit's memory and maybe you really don't want to mess with that, however as you'd be aware it is no problem to move the CNU *.img, *.unl & *.gma files to an sd because they will still work for your unit. Maybe you've already tried CNU & CX together on sd, either way let us know if it works for you as Asprin264 reported above. (See PS)
Another workaround that might succeed (if you want to leave the LTM CNU on the unit), would be to deselect it before you plug in an sd with the mismatched fullCX.
If neither works, the other 'blunt instrument' workaround method which will work of course is to have your mismatched fullCX and CNU on different sd's and just use whichever, but i'm sure you know that and want something more convenient...(See PS)
I like to solve mysteries as much as the next bloke and agree that this one seems calculated to drive anyone crazy. Ultimately it still just comes down to this: Mismatched combination may or may not work. Don't mix versions and there's no conflict, therefore no problem. Having said that though, if i was in your position i'd also want to know the answer.
I hope you find it. Good luck.
Did you try the koral CNU as bam-bam asked?
PS: You may have to have a detail map on the unit memory for things to work. If so this is both legal and pretty small: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. That links to an exe, but here's the image in case you need it: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
