I was thinking the same thing, there is two half sets of instructions.
I (think) i have installed 1.24 fully, please someone confirm if i am wrong
My method was this....
1st ~ download the Mapsource (locked) version from post 19
2nd ~ remove my old jklink folder from C:
3rd ~ Unrar the 1.24 Install clicking on roadguide.ph.124.part1.exe.
4th ~ Go to C:\jklinc\ Roadguide, copy the unlock mapset.exe into this folder and run (map is now unlocked)
5th ~ open my copy of MapSource which happens to be 6.16.2, choose Roadguide 1.24 Contributors Version from my dropdown of available maps
6th ~ Highlight Luzon and POI's and send .img to my USB stick.
Because people were talking about narrow roads with this other unlocked 1.24.img version i went through the above steps to change the TYP file in post #44 !!
7th ~ download change_TYP_file.rar
8th ~ Use the .img file i created from my MapSource from the locked version on my USB stick and followed steps 4 thru to 13 from post #44
I copied the final gmapsupp.img from the "MAP new TYP" folder into my Garmin XT folder on my device and ran Garmin... Browsed the map to Taft Ave where i was looking before i updated to 1.24 and i noticed more POI's and everything looked ok. However browsing from birds eye looks different to actual 3D Route View, as im not currently in this country i dont think i can view 3D to see if the roads are narrow like people were saying?.
Later when i was playing round with GmapTool i loaded a copy of the same 1.24.img file from my Garmin XT and split the file to create subfiles,
the TYP file says I0002F6C.TYP, len. 17734 ...... guess this is ok
Looking forward to dodging traffic on Taft Ave next week!,just hope what i got is right but looks all good done this many times... thanks in advance
