The TopoLusitania map doesn�t show many paths on Madeira (and also not on Portugal itself). I�ve been looking for Topo maps of Madeira that could be used for walking and found the following maps very useful:

Both maps are routable. They seem to contain very similar information, but I find the mapping of the Freizeitkarte clearer than that of the Openfietsmap.Code:Please Login or Register to see the links

The information is both from openstreetmap. Comparing the maps in Basecamp gives an other result than comparing on your gps. In BC I prefer Freizeitkarte, on my gps (O600) I prefer openfietsmap.

Freizeitkarte offers several typ files in case you want to change the 'look and feel' of the map. I prefer the 'contrast' typ file both in Mapsource/Basecamp and on my Oregon 600. Originally Posted by yorkim

Hy Mapperoni,
I've tried to change Some OSM-Freizeikarte-maps with Freizeikarte .typ file,

using either Javawa TypeChanger or GMpapTool. No way. With gMapTool I can change the type on OSM maps with other .type files. The Freizeikarte .typ files are very light too regarding the other ones I used. What's the trick ?

The method you use depends on the kind of mapset you want to change.
JaVaWa TYPchanger is meant for changing a typ file within a mapset (.img).
JaVaWa GMTK can change a typ file in an installed Freizeitkarte or a gmap version.
GMTK: select your map and then open Menu Extra > Change or add typ file.

Each Freizeitkarte is available in 3 formats: img, installation and gmap version.
