How it is possible that this, new, unlocked Scg route 2.4nt img file is just 14.22 MB ? "Old" SCG Route 2.3NT was 21Mb !!!Originally Posted by Garmin SCG Route 2.40 NT [IMG-UNLOCKED

I did not write about politics but about the quality of maps. This is not the place for it than a forum for navigation.
You did not answer for what is better and more detailed map of SCG Route. (I tested the maps in Belgrade and I did not see the difference)
I am glad that both maps I would like you're using SCG Route travel around Kosovo.(where I was last year several times and adriaroute 3:11 is great)

If you think it's better try to test SCG Route in Macedonia, Montenegro, or better in Kosovo
I thought the whole map not individually for each city.
Global does not matter every street in a small village.
My opinion is AdriaRoute better map to navigate these areas.
As I travel these areas know from personal experience.

Hi there,
I thank you in advance for any help you can give me regarding this problem. I've been trying to install SCG Route 2.40NT on a Garmin Nuvi 680, through both Mac and PC, to no avail. In either instance the Garmin unit reports "Can't Unlock Maps," even though the map appears unlocked in both MapSource and RoadTrip.
I tried installing via PC by two different methods:
PC method 1:
I installed MapSource 6.16.3 and patched the EXE as instructed.
Installed scg.exe, and then used the MapSource Unlocker 2.1 (in the /Family_929 folder) to unlock the map.
I ran MapSource; the map appeared unlocked in the software, but still remains locked inside the Nuvi 680. I can tell the difference between unlocked and locked because the map will ask me to unlock it in the software if I do not run the Unlocker 2.1 (I tried this out of desparation).
After having fiddled with PC method #1 above, I moved on to #2:
I deleted everything and started with a fresh install of MapSource. Then, I downloaded the .gmap file and put it in the appropriate folder for my Win7 machine(C:\ProgramData\GARMIN\Maps). It did not show up on MapSource at all, so I abandoned the PC and took out my Mac.
Mac:
Installed RoadTrip and MapInstall per the instructions. Downloaded and double-clicked the .gmap file. It asked me if it wants to be loaded, I said Yes, and it showed up in RoadTrip. Then I used MapInstall to install the maps, maps went into Garmin, and everything looked good. But when I turned on the Gamin unit, it gave me the same "Can't Unlock" error message.
I was eventually able to install SCG Route 2.30NT using the same PC procedure outlined above, but I still couldn't install 2.3 via Mac. For the Mac, I'd load the .gmap file to Road Trip, but it wouldn't show up in RoadTrip -- only the previously-loaded 2.40NT version would show up. I tried deleting the Garmin software from the Mac and reinstalling it -- and then trying to reinstall the 2.3NT version -- but the 2.4NT version was still present. Weird.
Final Note: I have no idea how much of a difference 2.3 vs 2.4 is supposed to make. I'm totally fine with having *some* maps loaded as opposed to none, so I'll be ok if this isn't solved. Any idea on that front? Is 2.4 really that much better that I should keep on trying to load it (I'm n00b, so I have no idea)?
Any advice will be appreciated.

Method 3: To check which maps are installed on your MAC, check the contents of the following directory: home/Library/Aplication Support/Garmin/Maps, there you can just put or delete GMAPs "files", after restarting Roadtrip you shoud see results. You cannot have more that 1 map active that have the same FID.
Method 2: did you put the whole GMAP directory into that destination? THe whole GMAP directory should be copied there, after restarting Mapsource it should recognize it.
Alternativey, try the following: download the unlocked IMG file (links are ybove) and put it directly into you Nuvi
It took me a while to figure out what you meant by "put it directly into your Nuvi." Eventually I overwrote the gmapsupp.img file in the Nuvi with the one I downloaded in the thread, and it worked. Thanks!
By the way, your reply came in the nick of time. For some reason, even though SCG 2.3 was loaded on the device, the map for Belgrade was missing (but not for rest of Serbia -- go figure). Fiddling some more with the device deleted the entire 2.3 map set, so I was SOL until I tried sending the unlocked IMG to the device. Thanks again!
thanks for share and tips it helps me to solve a big problem with my old garmin
Montenegro coast is MUCH better in Europe CN 2012.20 than in SCG Route 2.40 or Adria Route 3.30:
