means :Upgrading MapSource to a the latest Garmin original version will NOT remove any of your unlock keys.
We use a patched Mapsource version, not the original one, some months ago, Garmin introduced the new GMA policy, you can unlock maps with jetmouse kg in a patched MS , it will work, but it wont work for IMGs sent to gps coz new firmwares ask for the .gma file .
No ,by Garmin new firmwares checking and looking for .gmaThe problem is that all maps having a MapID >= 2200 will get the "Unauthenticated" status.
They will get? How? By the Saint Spirit apparition?
You have to navigate to get to the good.

Now it makes more sense. Solution: just use the stock mapsource software and unlock with the usual 25-letters unlocker.
Several questions:
1)Is there a way to look inside the JVC file to see if it is for the 1xxx series or some other series?
2)is there a JVC file that works for the .40 for 1xxx nuvi?
3)If you used mapsource I dont believe exporting from mapsource to .img ever gives you a jvc file. So how do people who use mapsource get junction view then?
4)Where do I place the time zone img file?
JCV file works for all nuvi supporting JCV.
Here is jcv file [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Gmaptz.img(time zone file) go in hiden folder .System.
Original nuvi dont support jcv you must flash to support Jcv.
