Ive tried v1.9 unlocker, It gets to 70 and states "Not a detail map" and then rebuilds the map. I belive it should create 2 files, one which is unlocked and the other is the original backup.
Ive also tried the latest checksum fix jetmouse, this doesnt work full stop, Ive tried about 30-40 different keys plus 3-4 mapids, again no joy
I MUST be doing something wrong, what it is I have NO idea?

Ive downloaded a completely different file to try, its the gmapsupp.img for Northern England 1:50 and again tried unlocker, same issue and jetmouse keygen, same issue
    Something definitely weird happening here?????

FIU creates just the unlocked map, read with care instructions in FIU thread .

If you dont have version 1.3 or above ,it wont work with this map, but read post n. 49.
Jetmouse KG will give you a key created starting from your unit id and created for a map with its own FID. It will let you to create an .unl file with notepad to add in your unit along the map.
    read some tutorial ,eg. :

I know you are trying to help and I thank you but I allready know all of this and have tried everything above numerous times.
You never answered my comment about the FIU stopping and quoting "not a detail map" is this normal or has it crashed?
Also Ive also tried the latest checksum fix jetmouse, this doesnt work full stop, Ive tried about 30-40 different keys plus 3-4 mapids, again no joy

I have waited until it finishes. the second smaller image of the uk national parks gets to stage 226 then States "Not a detail map" Press any key to exit and then "Rebuilding map" and underneath that "gmt V0.5.9.2949 and then "Writing: other"
When the window closes i copy the file across the the Garmin folder, reboot and get the cant unlock maps as usual
So, in a nutshell, no it doesnt work

    Ok update
At the moment the dos window is still open and the file size is increasing as Its writing, so hopefully this may be actually doing something

Phew - at last - I was able to sort out my problem using image unlocker 1.9 and a 64-bit O/S - if it doesnt update the original file into the unlocked version, just try this:

Right click on the original .img file and go to properties - attributes and see if "read only" is checked, uncheck it. that should do the trick and hopefully it will work. You see, most of the original .img files are write protected by default.

Make sure not to touch the command prompt window of the unlocker and allow it ample time to finish off and close on its own accord. A good way to verify that the result image is the unlocked version is the time/date stamp, it should reflect the one on your computer at the time of unlocking (writing). It overwrites the original and does not create a backup, as suggested by earlier posters. Well, at least version 1.9 doesn't.

I've downloaded the files and they are now one file, but I can't seem to unzip them, winzip says it only supports IMG files that are in the ISO format. What can I use to unzip them?
