If you are installing Garmin WorldMap you should use [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Looking at earlier posts in this thread there's the everlasting urban-forum-myth misunderstanding about World Map v4.0 & v4.06 (with map data from January, 1999)- It's a mix-up of the MapSource versions and NOT the real World Map versions.
The thread with World Map v4 & v4.06 is just Garmin World Map (first release without a official version number, internally referred to as v2) with MapSource v4 + update for MapSource to v4.06.
