how did you rename the non working map?
can you post gmaptool listings from both img, then maybe we will find the differences?

    run garmin keygen 1.5

get your garmin XT Software Unit ID: (go to "About" in Garmin XT)

enter custom map ID 2309 in the keygen after inputting the Software UID
    click generate

copy the generated key to a file called "gmapsupp.unl" (the 2010.30 file has to be named gmapsupp.img) to your garmin directory.

    and the map is unlocked.

Initially, once I have unlocked the 229 mb one with fast IMG Unlocker, I have put that on SD card (just that one and nothing else), first as gmapprom.img and then as gmapsupp.img. Both did not work. Then, I used GmapTool to split the unlocked gmapsupp.img and then just "Join"ed back the just the .IMG files using GmapTool, which created the 170 mb img file, which I then put on the SD card as gmapsupp.img (again just that one file on sd card) and it works just fine.

That was couple of hours ago....now I have tried something else, based on what I read in a prior post, about an issue with map ID > 2200....

I took the unlocked 229 mb gmapsupp.img, opened it in GmapTool, and in the "Join" option, I used, "Set mapset FID " and entered 281 (as in for the prior version of garmin nt india map) for FID and did "join all"...thats it..the 229 mb one works in my C330 now...
Not sure, if C330 being an old garmin unit, has any limitations !!
how and what are still a mystery for me..but this trail and error worked

I have attached 2 files here in the zip...one is the gmaptool log for the original unlocked img and the other for the one where I have changed the mapset FID to 281..

Again, I have no idea how these things work internally and might have done something really silly for the original, that it did not work for my c330..appreciate your insights..

The map was unlocked with unlocker alternative, not with Fast IMG unlocker and this map lacks record in MPS block.
    Nice the second version works

Which one has more POIs / better map of the two: Garmin 2010.30 map or SatNav OneIndia map of 24 Aug? My limited testing indicates that both are similar. In the earlier versions, I liked the Garmin map better than Satnav map. Maybe because I use Garmin GPS :-)
